Welome
This site and my blog are an amalgam of my experiences designing and developing GIS software
over the last 12 years. Between the two you'll find a wide array of information
to help your GIS development projects be successful.
My "Design Process" section was pretty out of date (and contained some waterfallish suggestions),
so until I get a chance to revise it, I've taken it down. For now thought, you could take a read
of the Agile Practices for GIS" article I co-wrote for GIS Development Magazine, or check out my
blog posts on Agile.
And if you really want to get the skinny on how to design and develop software using Agile, you can
sign up for a 3-day course on Agile Developer Techniques.
Fundamentals Section
Based on a series of blog posting, these articles present the fundamental concepts and tools all GIS developers
should be familliar with. Topics include Object Oriented Programming,
Error Trapping, and
Unit Testing.
About this site...
I had some idea that I'd make this into more of a resource center, but between blogging, work, mountain biking, and chillin with my
family, this just has not come together. So I'm streamlining this site, and pulling most of the content that's dated.
My focus will continue to be on the blog since I think that's what's the most useful for people.
